Oh to be 5 again

Jonathan Started school on Tuesday. His first day of Kindergarten. My little boy is growing up. The morning started off really good. He Got up and got ready without fighting. I made breakfast and packed his snack for the day. Then headed off to school. I love 9:30 school. It makes it so much easier to get me and the kids ready. Next year will be the year I dread.

Just before I got the kids in the car I had Jonathan take a picture. I told him there were going to be a lot of pictures today so to get use to it.

Once we go to school I got him and the kids out of the car and we headed off to his class. He was just too cute I had to get a picture of him. And no that is not a purse it is his snack bag.

Once we got to his room I got a picture of him by his door. We went in he pit his bag on a hook and off we went to explore his class.

He met a new friend the day of the meet and greet last week. His name is Andrew (easy for him to remember) They have been buddies ever since.

He was a little timid at first. I think he was a bit overwhelmed. He has a mixture of his mom and dad in him. He loves people but gets a little overwhelmed at first with all the new people and surroundings. He didn't want me to leave. But I know my little boy I new he would be fine once I left. I do have to say saying goodbye to him I almost cried. I had to use all my self control to hold it in. But I left him there on the color mat to begin his first day.

After school we waited by the gate for him. He is the third one back. Look at my big boy.

Once we got in the car he was all excited to tell me what he did that day. That is one of the first things we do when ever he came home from pre-school. Our tradition goes on.

The worst part of the first couple of days was that the entire time i have thought that school started at 9:50. Well today the 2nd day of school when I got there at 9:40 (thinking I was early) no one was there. My poor boy was already late for school on the 2nd day. I felt like an idiot when I had to bring him in through the office. Man I am really loosing it. So he will start the day off right tomorrow we will be at school on time from now on. Man I need to get it together.

How exciting! Congrats. He looked so adorable on his 1st day. Don't feel bad about being late. I got a ticket on my way to pick up Kaden (3rd day), and the policeman took WAY long!!! He had to wait in the office until I got there-about 8minutes late! I was SO sad. When I took him to the car I cried! Other then that, it has been such a exciting and rewarding process.

It's not so bad taking them to school early. By then the two can dress themselves. They may look a bit funny...lol... but hey they are just learning right? Those were the funnest days when kirsten and torben would get themselves ready and come out of the bathroom with tons of hairspray and gel!!! lol
