To think this is what is has come to. Police in front of our temple to calm the angry mob.

Since prop 8 has passes we as latter day saints have felt the brunt of no on 8 protesters. Seeing them in front of our temple with all there hate breaks my heart. They make it seem like we as a whole hate anyone that is gay or lesbian. A motto I have always lived by "Hate the sin but not the sinner" I have someone in my family that is gay and I love him no matter what. I may not think his choices are right but they are his choices to make. I just don't want there decisions to be put upon my family as the right way to live life. Hearing what people say about our church and especially our beloved prophet President. Monson brings tears to my eyes. If prop 8 had not passed would we have been picketing at there door steps? Telling them how horrible they are? No! We would have come together as a group to decide what to do for our families. I heard some say they would home school their kids or even just move. They say we are the hateful people when they are the ones starting the violence and crude remarks. I love my church, I love my Savior, I love my Prophet. I will always and forever stand for what I believe in. For now the battle is won. I know there will be more ahead and we will have to take a stand. I will proudly do so.
It makes me sad to see this in front of the temple
I know what I stand for and what me and my family fought for these past few months was right. I hope all the hate and protesting dies down and we can go about our lives. I am grateful that I live in this country that gives me the freedom to belong to such a wonderful church.
"I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know who I am I know Gods plan I'll follow him in faith. I believe in the Savior Jesus Christ, I'll honor his name. I'll so what is right I'll follow His light. His truth I will proclaim."

We agree Danielle. Its sad to see this happening to our church especially since we had other sects that were right there by us. The one thing that I don't get is that they argue we are being unfair to minorities ... I thought it was a lifestyle? Correct me if I'm wrong, but since when has being Gay/Lesbian been a race? It will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
I am so sorry for that to come so close to home for you all in California. I have even felt the effects here in Las Vegas. I just got into a "confrontation" with a woman who was talking about how proud she was the Obama had won. She continues to say, "Oh yeah, and all the 'Morms' were going crazy!" And with this she broke out into a smuig little laugh...She even conitnued on to say how the church TELLS us how to vote...She OBVIOUSLY did not know I was Mormon.
Long story short. I spoke up. Gladly announced that I was Mormon. And told her a little bit about our church.
Stay strong!
I can't believe everything that is going on. Hopefully it all dies down soon. I really is so sad to see the hatred towards the church. I enjoyed your post. That primary song you posted was a good reminder. Thanks :)
Thanks for sending me that Meridian Article. Having it from a cops point of view hit me even harder! I can't imagine the next time around but I know we have to fight the good fight! The only way for evil to win is for good men to do nothing!
Hey you. I am proud of you and all the work you did for prop 8. Puttin the kids to work. Good for you. Hope all is going well. I miss you and Matt. The kids looked so cute on Halloween.
I've been keeping up with Prop 8 here in Idaho...so sad to see everything happening and being said, but I'm not surprised. We always knew these days would come. It's amazing how much there is on the internet about mormons and prop 8. 90-95% of what I find is negative of course. People around the world have been paying attention to this too. The only good thing is it puts us out there. Thanks for participating in helping to make this happen.
