The big boom

Last night at about 8:30 we put Braden to bed. Then decided to sit down with Jonathan and Katelyn to watch Americas Funniest Home Videos. About 10 min into watching it we heard a loud noise. Matt and I both thought the balcony above us fell to the ground but when we opened our door we found a huge tree there to great us. The winds last night at our house were going only about 7 miles an hour then out of no where they picked up to about 80 miles. 6 trees in our apartment complex fell to the ground. The rest of the night Matt and I couldn't sleep the wind was so loud. It whistled through the complex all night long. When we woke up there was tree stuff everywhere. One of the 6 trees that fell landed on a car. That was our night. My mom didn't believe me. I guess it wasn't so bad in Downey. So here is my post mom to prove it really happened.

This is what we opened our door to last night when we first heard the boom. Branches inches away from our door and window.

After we got out of bed and ready for the day I took Jonathan and Katelyn for a walk through the mess. It doesn't look as bad here because earlier in the morning they came in and cut it down so we could get out of our house with our getting hurt.

This is one of the walk ways lots of leaves and branches. This is what most of the complex looks like.

Our pool is normally very clean. Especially when it is cold because not as many people use it. This is what it looks like now after our windy night.

There are pine needles everywhere. Jonathan wanted me to cover him in them. It wasn't that hard to do since there were a bazillion.

Behind Katelyn and Jonathan is the path to get to the parking lot from our house. There was no getting through that mess. We had to walk around it. Jonathan loved it. He never gets to step in the bushes. Now he can without getting into trouble.

Are you kidding me?! That is crazy. Cool story though! It's hilarious that the kids seem to have so much fun with it.

Yeah I can also testify to the CRAZY wind storms we've had! We have more brush in our pool and hot tub then on the tree's themselves! The OC is in a WIND STORM! Pretty crazy about your trees though! I'm always afraid our palm trees will plummet sometime soon! Bet it made for a fun Sunday Night! Way to go that Braden can sleep through all of that! ha ha
